About Robyn Painter
I am a dedicated advocate, meticulous investigator, and knowledgeable appellate lawyer with excellent interpersonal skills and a talent for finding creative solutions to thorny legal issues. I enjoy handling complex or novel legal issues and providing guidance and advocacy for parents and institutions.
From 2015-2025, I worked at the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights and at Federal Student Aid's Borrower Defense Legal Group. As a first‐generation college graduate and former criminal defense attorney, I bring a sense of mission and purpose to my legal work, knowing that education can be life‐changing and life‐saving. Through my legal career, I have observed first‐hand that equitably providing students with what they need to be successful can avoid a host of negative outcomes that squander the human potential available to our society.
